Milk Replacer for Water Buffalo Calves
- This Buffalo-Gro milk replacer product was designed to meet the nutrient requirements of a buffalo calf.
- It is balanced in minerals and vitamins and formulated to duplicate the protein and fat of the mother’s milk using analysis data from the literature.
Mixing directions
- Mix 175g of Buffalo-Gro powder in 1 litre of water.
- For optimum results, the powder has to be mixed in 1/3 of hot water at 50-60ºC (130-140ºF).
- Then, complete the solution with warm of cool water in order to feed it at body temperature.
Management and feeding instructions
- At birth, the Buffalo calf must receive as much colostrum as possible for the first 24-36 hours of life.
- Start feeding milk replacer once the calf have received enough colostrum.
- Quantities offered should be adjusted to calf’s weight and should be at a rate of 10% of body weight up to 30 days of age and then 10% of the first 30kg body weight plus 5% of additional body weight up to 90 days of age.
